History of Vicodin:

Hydrocodone or Vicodin was created by Nazi scientists in the mid 1920's. They did this by bonding a hydrogen atom to codeine molecules. It was approved for sale in the United States under the brand name Hycodan in 1943. Today it is known as Vicodin. In 1984 Vicodin was approved for sale by the FDA. It was sold by Abbott Laboratories as a tablet.

On June 30th the FDA voted to ban the
sale of Vicodin and the other painkiller Percocet off the market. This was due to the fact that the use of it has caused 400 deaths per year and over 42,000 hospitalization.
